Teachers Without Borders....

After having identified and researched six different learning spaces within our local school settings, my learning roadmap now directs me to the educational and learning needs of others on a more global scale. Very wisely and timely, a current unit in my upgrade course takes us to the Teachers Without Borders website.

"At over 60 million strong.... teachers are the largest professionally trained group in the world."

"Teachers are not simply vehicles for the transmission of knowledge (though we wish the 70 million children out of school had access to a great teacher); they are one of the most powerful catalysts for sustainable and sustainable development. It’s not just about building schools; it’s also about building teaching and learning. That’s how communities flourish."

TWB focus on 9 initiatives. 'Child Friendly Spaces' is just one of those nine, and one that particularly resonates with me. CFS aid children caught in natural and national disasters, with a focus on their psycho-social education.

My plan is to further research this area with an aim to conceptualise and design a 'Future Learning Space' for young learners in a globally challenging environment.
