ABOUT ME

Join me on my education evolution..... as I continue my learning and return to study to upgrade my Primary Teaching qualification.

I have discovered how valuable Personal Learning Networks can be for educators, providing limitless access to informal professional development and connecting educators in ways I never could have imagined after graduating 30 years ago.

A PLN also gives me the opportunity to share my areas of interests along the way as I explore the wealth of resources now at my fingertips.

I love to learn, and have always been passionate about early literacy and numeracy, individual needs, supporting children experiencing learning difficulties and conquering maths anxiety. on returning to the workplace as a CRT, I have also become more aware of the support required for our students for whom English is their second language.

With current focus on Inquiry Learning, STEM education and the new Australian Digital Technologies Curriculum now in action, I am very interested in how these areas will evolve in the years ahead and look forward to playing a part in it.

My concerns for the future also include the mental health and well-being of the young people in our care. Emotional intelligence, communication and social skills, coping skills and strategies are all areas we need to be assisting our students to develop.

I will use this space to share and reflect on my experiences, as well as the significant work and findings of other educators and professionals who continue to passionately strive to make a difference in the lives of the young people in our care.
