Using the space beyond the four walls of the classroom is a vital component of learning. Change the environment and the circumstance and as educators, we witness a new insight into our student's personalities, especially a side we may not have seen before.

New language emerges as suburban Preps visit a working farm, a nurturing side of a boisterous boy is noted as he sidles up against the calf gently patting him and oblivious to what ever else is going on around him, fears and anxieties are confronted at camp when a student experiences their first nights away from home......

As educators we are privileged to experience new learning situations with our students, and as parents, we hope our children's teachers take a moment to acknowledge our child's particular needs as the need arises.
